These are from the second snow. School was delayed 2 hours which was nice. Curtis was gone this time so I didn't dress the kids up to play in it. It sure was pretty though.
Last weekend we ventured out to our usual hiking spot at Raven Rock National Park. We packed a picnic lunch and hiked on some trails. It always feels so good once we get out there. The kids love walking on the logs, playing with the rocks and especially the ice cream we get on the way home. This weekend we took another walk on the trail we have beside our house. Arabella decided to throw a fit because she didn't want to go. (she hardly ever acts like this, so when she does, we're shocked) She's a homebody like me, she's stay home every day if you let her. But we made her go anyways to get some fresh air for a little bit. I went ahead of everyone to go for my run. When I returned back to them on the trail she was still crying. So she and I had a little talk on the way back home. I had to explain to her that sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do because we love the other person(her daddy). We do these things not only because we love them but we want to spend time with them and it makes the other person happy. It was a good mommy moment for me. When the boys returned to the house she went to her daddy and apologized for how she acted and for disrespecting him. She was still upset because Curtis told her he was disappointed in her. That broke her heart. (sure wish something that simple would work on these ornery boys)All to say it was a good moment to feel we're doing a decent job of parenting. We gotta hang on to this family time before these kids get too old and don't want to hang out with us anymore. Here are some pictures of our trip to Raven Rock.
This picture is blurry but it's of Tate up in the sick as you can see. One night we're on the couch and hear him telling us something from the kitchen. We turn around to see this.
So our biggest news around here is that Arabella has lost her 1st tooth. After wiggling for a couple of months it is finally out. She kept wanting Curtis to pull on it, but as soon as he pulled very hard she was crying. A week of it dangling by one root and she finally pulled it out herself. She wanted it out before Tuesday because the High School Musical 3 movie comes out and she wants money to buy the movie. Some motivation, huh? She got $6 because she's 6 years old. We told her the first one is special and after that it's only $1. What ever happened to the quarter I used to get? Now we're working on the other 3 teeth that are quite loose. And yet another chapter in our lives has begun. She truly no longer is a baby.
